Raghav Chadha Meets President Murmu Over Alleged Harassment of Ex-AAP MPs

Raghav Chadha has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government of using state resources for political revenge against leaders who left AAP and later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
On May 5, 2026, Chadha, along with three other Members of Parliament, met Droupadi Murmu and submitted a formal complaint regarding the matter.
During the meeting, Chadha alleged that the Punjab government has been taking politically motivated actions against him and other MPs after their shift from AAP to BJP in the Rajya Sabha. He claimed that state machinery is being misused to harass and pressure former party members as an act of political retaliation.
According to Chadha, these actions are not based on governance or public welfare, but are intended to punish political opponents who chose to leave the party. He expressed concern that government institutions and public resources are being used unfairly for partisan purposes.
The MPs approached President Murmu to bring national attention to the issue and seek her intervention in ensuring fairness, democratic values, and protection from political misuse of power.
This development has intensified political tensions between AAP and BJP, especially in Punjab, where accusations of political targeting have now reached the highest constitutional office in the country.
