Karnataka CM Addresses Unhappy MLAs During Cabinet Expansion
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar recently spoke about the disappointment felt by some MLAs who were not included in the state’s cabinet expansion. Addressing the issue, he said that not getting a ministerial post is something many political leaders experience during their careers. He encouraged party members to remain patient and continue working for the people.
While speaking to party workers and the media, Shivakumar shared his own experience from earlier in his political career. He recalled that he had also missed the opportunity to become a minister at one stage. By sharing this personal example, he wanted to reassure disappointed MLAs that such situations are a normal part of political life and should not discourage them.
The cabinet expansion was carried out as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen its leadership team and improve the functioning of different departments. However, not every MLA could be included in the cabinet because the number of ministerial positions is limited.

He said these decisions are made after detailed discussions within the party.
The Deputy Chief Minister appealed to the disappointed legislators not to lose confidence or become unhappy. He reminded them that serving the public does not depend only on holding a ministerial position. According to him, every MLA has an important responsibility to represent the people, raise public issues, and contribute to the development of their constituency.
He also called on party members to remain united and work together for the success of the government. Shivakumar said that internal unity is important for implementing development programmes and fulfilling the promises made to the people during the election.
