Nandini Curd Prices Reduced by Rs 2 per Litre

Karnataka Minister D.K. Shivakumar has announced a reduction of ₹2 per litre in Nandini curd prices following strong public criticism over the recent price changes.

Shivakumar explained that the increase in milk prices was necessary to support more than 11 lakh farmer families across Karnataka. He said the decision was taken to help farmers receive better financial support and improve their income.

However, the milk price hike led to concerns among consumers, who were worried about the rising cost of dairy products. Responding to these concerns, Shivakumar said he understood the difficulties faced by the public.

He also confirmed that the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) had accepted his suggestion to reduce curd prices by ₹2 per litre. The decision was taken after considering public feedback and the concerns raised by consumers.

The price reduction is expected to provide some relief to customers while the government continues to support dairy farmers.

The announcement highlights the effort to balance the financial needs of farmers with the concerns of consumers over rising prices.
