Ahmedabad RTO Permanently Revokes Licence of Main Accused in Iskcon Flyover Accident

The Ahmedabad Regional Transport Office (RTO) has taken the decisive step of permanently revoking the driving licence of Tathya Patel, the main accused in the tragic Iskcon Flyover accident case. This action follows Patel’s history of repeated offences.

The RTO’s move is based on three First Information Reports (FIRs), with the most significant being the case related to the Iskcon Flyover accident, which resulted in the loss of nine lives and injuries to 13 others. Despite receiving a notice to defend against the charges, Patel neither appeared nor responded to the authorities, leading to the permanent licence revocation.

Patel has a 30-day window to appeal the decision, failing which his licence will be permanently revoked. In a related development, Pragnesh Patel, Tathya’s father, was denied bail on charges of criminal intimidation stemming from his actions at the accident site.
