Andhra Pradesh Government’s Generous Input Subsidy to Farmers

The Andhra Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership, demonstrates its commitment to farmers’ welfare by releasing a substantial input subsidy of ₹1,294.58 crore. This assistance, disbursed to over 11.57 lakh farmers affected by drought and the Michaung cyclone in 2023, highlights the government’s proactive approach towards addressing agricultural challenges.

Notably, Andhra Pradesh stands out as the sole state providing input subsidy to farmers for crop loss during the same season, underscoring its dedication to immediate relief measures. With a significant portion allocated to farmers impacted by drought and cyclones, the subsidy aims to alleviate their financial burdens and facilitate recovery from natural calamities.

The government’s ongoing efforts, including the Rythu Bharosa scheme and extensive crop insurance coverage, further reinforce its commitment to supporting farmers’ livelihoods and agricultural sustainability.
