Arrests Made After Rottweilers Attack Mother and Daughter in Chennai

In Chennai, a breeder and two of his family members were arrested after their pet Rottweilers attacked a five-year-old girl and her mother in a park in Nungambakkam. The incident occurred when the child, Suraksha, was playing at a Chennai Corporation park, and the unleashed dogs attacked her. Her mother rushed to her rescue but was also attacked by the dogs.

Neighbours intervened and took the injured mother and daughter to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. Following a complaint, the police arrested the dog owners, identified as Pugazhendhi, his wife Dhanalakshmi, and their son Venkatasan, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Despite prior warnings from the police, the family had allowed their dogs into the park unleashed.
