BJP TMC Workers Clash in Kolkata
A clash broke out between workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Kolkata on Monday. The incident happened near the Ekbalpur Police Station during an election campaign.
Both groups had gathered in the area for political activities. BJP supporters were holding a meeting led by their candidate Rakesh Singh. During the event, BJP workers started shouting slogans in support of their party.
Soon, TMC supporters nearby responded with their own slogans. This led to arguments between the two sides. The situation quickly became tense and turned into a physical fight.
Police officers arrived at the spot and took control of the situation. Several people from both parties were detained and later arrested to prevent further trouble.
Authorities are now monitoring the area closely to make sure peace is maintained, especially as election campaigning continues in the city.
