British High Commission Sends Off 2023-2024 Chevening Scholarship Recipients in New Delhi

The British High Commission in New Delhi organized a special send-off event for the recipients of the 2023-2024 Chevening Scholarship, comprising 22 women and 22 men. This year’s diverse cohort, with over 50 percent from non-metro cities, includes scholars co-sponsored by Adani Group for artificial intelligence studies and by TVS Motor Group for STEM master’s programs.

The group also features participants from the Chevening Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Scholarship co-sponsored by the Jharkhand government, HSBC India, HUL India, and Duolingo. Alex Ellis, British High Commissioner to India, expressed enthusiasm for the scholars’ potential, citing his transformative experience in India at 18.

The next application window for this UK government scholarship opens in mid-September, offering tuition, living expenses, and travel funding for a one-year master’s program at any UK university. Notably, India has received the highest number of awards globally, benefiting over 3,700 scholars and fellows since 1983.
