Ceasefire Violation: Pakistan Rangers Fire on International Border in J&K

Pakistan Rangers engaged in unprovoked firing on the International Border (IB) in the Ramgarh and Arnia sectors of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in injuries to a Border Security Force (BSF) trooper. The injured personnel has been shifted to a hospital for treatment. The BSF responded effectively to the firing.

This marks the third ceasefire violation by Pakistan rangers in the last 10 days. The region experienced a period of relative calm following a renewed ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan in February 2021, but incidents of violation and infiltration bids have been reported recently.
