IDF Captures Key Hamas Stronghold in Gaza Strip

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the capture of a significant Hamas stronghold, named ‘Outpost 17,’ in the Jebaliya region of the Gaza Strip after a 10-hour battle. The Nahal Infantry Battalion led the operation, resulting in the death of several Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad militants. The military also reported the discovery of a tunnel shaft near a kindergarten school, leading to an extensive underground route.

The fighting occurred both within the tunnel system and on the ground. The IDF did not specify the number of casualties on its side. This development follows Israel’s intensified ground offensive in Gaza in response to the unprecedented attack by Hamas on October 7.
