Chennai Police Arrest DMK MLA’s Son and Daughter-in-law in Domestic Help Harassment Case

The Chennai police have arrested Anto Mathivanan, son of DMK MLA I. Karunanithi, and his wife Marlina Anne, in connection with the alleged torture of their 18-year-old domestic help. The couple, who were on the run, were apprehended in Andhra Pradesh. The case was registered on January 19 following a complaint from the domestic help, accusing her employers of prolonged physical and mental torture.

The Neelankarai All Women Police initiated the investigation, and the arrested individuals will be brought back to Chennai after completing legal formalities for a judicial magistrate appearance. The domestic help underwent a medical check-up at the Government Royapettah Hospital on Thursday.
