China Braces for Another Tropical Cyclone in Late September

China is preparing for the impact of another tropical cyclone expected to make landfall in late September, potentially affecting the country’s southern and southeastern regions. Jia Xiaolong, deputy director of the National Climate Centre, urged local authorities to take precautions to minimize the impact on people’s lives.

China has already faced Typhoon Saola and Typhoon Haikui earlier this month. The country is also experiencing uneven rainfall patterns in September, with some areas in Heilongjiang and Xinjiang expecting 20-50 percent higher precipitation than average, while regions including Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, and Shaanxi will have below-average rainfall.

Additionally, parts of the country, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, and Inner Mongolia, will see slightly higher temperatures than usual.
