Congress Urges EC to Act Against BJP’s “One Issue” Campaign
The Congress accused the BJP of violating election norms by using a single issue, likely referring to the Ram Temple, to sway voters on social media. Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary for communication, highlighted this violation, calling it a clear breach of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and the EC’s Model Code of Conduct.
Although not directly naming the issue, the Congress’s concern seems directed towards the BJP’s campaign around the Ram Temple. Despite not filing an official complaint, Congress urged the Election Commission to intervene and stop such appeals. This development comes after the BJP’s Bihar unit posted a tweet reminding voters of the Ram Temple issue before voting.
