Delhi CM Seeks Congress Support Against GNCTD Amendment Bill

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, expressing gratitude for their party’s support against the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, which was passed by the Rajya Sabha.

Kejriwal conveyed his appreciation for the Congress party’s role in rejecting and voting against the bill, emphasizing their dedication to upholding the principles of the Constitution. He expressed hope for continued support on other issues as well, as they combat forces that threaten the Constitution.

Kejriwal had previously met Congress leaders in Bihar and during a June opposition party meeting, seeking their support against the bill. The Congress initially remained silent, but eventually openly supported Kejriwal’s stance. Despite strong opposition efforts, the bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
