The dengue outbreak in Bangladesh has reached a concerning stage, with the death toll climbing to 251, and a significant surge reported in July alone, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The latest update reveals a total of 51,832 cases recorded so far this year.

In July, the DGHS data shows 43,854 cases, while June had 5,956 people infected with the mosquito-borne disease. Over the last 24 hours, 2,694 fresh dengue cases emerged, with 1,168 of them reported in Dhaka. Thankfully, 42,195 dengue patients have received treatment and returned home between January and July this year.

To combat the rising number of cases, Bangladesh health authorities have intensified measures to control mosquito breeding and conduct anti-larval operations to curtail the outbreak’s impact.
