Dhivya Sathyaraj Claims Attack During Campaign

In Chennai, Dhivya Sathyaraj, who is the deputy general secretary of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) IT wing and daughter of actor Sathyaraj, reported an incident during her election campaign on Monday evening.

She said that while she was campaigning in Nungambakkam for N. Ezhilan, the DMK MLA candidate for the Thousand Lights constituency, a group of supporters from the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) created a disturbance.

According to her, some members of the crowd allegedly threw slippers at her while she was speaking. She said she was surprised by the sudden incident and did not expect such behaviour during the campaign.

Dhivya Sathyaraj also said that she was verbally abused by some people in the crowd. She claimed that the words used against her were unacceptable and disrespectful.

The incident created tension at the campaign spot for a short time. Party workers and supporters later helped control the situation, and the campaign continued.

Authorities are expected to look into the matter and take necessary steps if required.
