Farmers Demand Action on Wild Elephant Issue

Farmers from Hangala village staged a demonstration demanding the capture and relocation of a wild elephant causing damage to their crops. They engaged in a heated argument with Forest Department staff over perceived indifference. Expressing frustration, the farmers criticized officials for prioritizing discussions over practical solutions.

They attributed the recent increase in elephant raids to the installation of rail barricades. Following the agitation, Minister Eshwar Khandre promised action within 24 hours and instructed wildlife officials to commence operations promptly to address the farmers’ concerns.
