Five Possessed of Country-Made Pistols Arrested by Chennai Police

Five individuals have been arrested in Chennai for allegedly possessing country-made pistols, according to the Rajamangalam Police. The arrests followed a vehicle check at the Retteri junction on the night of September 13, 2023. During the check, a man named V. Yogesh was detained, and a photograph on his mobile phone showed him with a pistol.

Further investigation revealed that Yogesh, along with an associate, had acquired two country-made pistols in Uttar Pradesh and subsequently sold them in Chennai. The police have arrested Yogesh, Syed Abu Thahir, Syed Sarfraz Nawaz, Rahmadullah, and Mukathir in connection with the case and have seized the illegal firearms. Further investigations are ongoing.
