Four Arrested in Murder of AIADMK Councillor near Vandalur

In a significant development, the police have apprehended four suspects in connection with the murder of AIADMK functionary R. Anbarasan, who also served as the ward councilor of Vengadamangalam. The unfortunate incident occurred as Anbarasan was returning home in his car and was intercepted by a gang near Keerapakkam village.

The assailants launched a brutal attack, hurling petrol bombs at him and ultimately hacking him to death. The Kayar police initiated an investigation into the case and swiftly made the arrests.

The four apprehended individuals are identified as Balaji (23), Rathinam (24), Sunil (19), and Parthiban (18). Further details from the investigation have revealed that the motive behind the murder was Anbarasan’s alleged plan to seek retribution for a murder committed by the same gang in the previous year.
