GRP Korukkupet Arrests Two for Train Robberies on Gummidipoondi-Kavaraipettai Section

In a swift action, the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Korukkupet have apprehended two individuals suspected of committing robberies on a moving train along the Gummidipoondi-Kavaraipettai section. The incident occurred when P. Moulees and his companions were traveling from Chennai Beach to Gummidipoondi, where they were assaulted with knives by unidentified persons.

The assailants robbed them of three mobile phones and ₹5,000 in cash before fleeing the scene. Acting on Moulees’s complaint, a special team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Railways, K. Ramesh, arrested M. Levin and A. Vijay, seizing two knives from them. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the incident.
