Heavy Rains Continue to Lash Mumbai, Schools, and Colleges Closed
Mumbai and its surrounding regions experienced continuous rainfall since dawn, leading to authorities ordering the closure of schools and colleges in response to a Mumbai Red alert issued by IMD (Indian Meteorological Department). Tragically, two individuals lost their lives in rain-related incidents.
Several areas in the city, including Churchgate, Byculla, Worli, Bandra, Chembur, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Santacruz, Andheri, Malad, and Bhandup, witnessed heavy downpours throughout the morning. The BMC Disaster Control reported significant overnight rainfall till 8 am, with City recording 112.25 mm, the Eastern suburbs 104.45 mm, and the Western suburbs 116.42 mm.
