India Wins Four Golds in Samoa
Indian weightlifters delivered an outstanding performance at the Commonwealth Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Apia, Samoa, winning four gold medals on the second day of the competition.
Sunil Singh won a gold medal in the men’s 65-kilogram category after lifting a total of 271 kilograms. His strong performance added to India’s growing medal tally at the championship.
In the women’s 58-kilogram category, Aisangfa Gogoi also secured gold by lifting a total of 185 kilograms. Her victory showcased India’s strength in women’s weightlifting as well.
Abhinob Gogoi continued India’s success by winning gold in the men’s 71-kilogram division with an impressive total lift of 284 kilograms.
In the Universal Cup event, Charu Pesi from Arunachal Pradesh claimed another gold medal in the men’s 65-kilogram category, lifting a total of 289 kilograms.
The excellent performances by Indian athletes have highlighted the country’s rising power in international weightlifting competitions. Indian Weightlifting Federation President Sahdev Yadav congratulated all the athletes, coaches, and support staff for their dedication and hard work.
He said these achievements reflect India’s growing strength in global weightlifting and show the success of consistent training and preparation. India’s strong medal-winning run has brought pride to the nation and raised hopes for future international success.
