Indian Man Dies, Four Hurt in Dhow Fire Near Strait of Hormuz
A tragic accident took place near the Strait of Hormuz when a traditional wooden boat, known as a dhow, caught fire and later sank, resulting in the death of one Indian national and injuries to four others.
According to reports, the victims suffered burn injuries after the fire broke out on the vessel.
The dhow was operating in the busy maritime region near the Strait of Hormuz, an important global shipping route.
Fortunately, another passing ship quickly responded to the emergency and rescued the crew members from the burning vessel.
The four injured individuals were taken for medical treatment in Dubai, where they are currently receiving care. Officials have said that the injured are safe and under proper medical supervision.
Following the incident, government authorities launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Indian diplomatic officials also responded promptly. Representatives from the Indian Consulate visited the rescued Indian nationals on Saturday night to check on their health and welfare.
The consulate is maintaining close contact with the dhow’s owner and is providing all necessary support and assistance to the affected individuals and their families.
