Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated a significant infrastructure push in Tamil Nadu, laying the foundation for five key projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and transportation efficiency in the state. Among the highlighted projects is the improvement of the Thoppur Ghat Section in Dharmapuri–Salem, involving the construction of a 4-km-long elevated highway to ensure safer travel through the challenging terrain.

Additionally, plans include widening stretches of crucial national highways such as Chennai – Tirupati, Coimbatore to Chidambaram, and Cuddalore – Vriddhachalam Road, totaling over 135 kilometers, facilitating smoother traffic flow. Moreover, the inauguration of essential infrastructure elements, including a high-level bridge and a flyover, signifies the government’s commitment to advancing Tamil Nadu’s development agenda and bolstering its transportation network.
