Israel Test-Flies Advanced Reconnaissance Aircraft “Oron”

Israel’s military has commenced test flights of the “Oron,” a Gulfstream G550-based reconnaissance aircraft equipped with advanced intelligence systems. The Defence Ministry announced that after integrating intelligence systems into the cutting-edge Oron aircraft, test flights have begun. This aircraft offers unprecedented intelligence capabilities, enabling real-time monitoring of ground movements across varied terrain and weather conditions.

The head of the Defence Ministry’s Missionised Aircraft Branch, identified as Y, highlighted Oron’s multi-sensor solution, providing the Israel Defense Forces with game-changing abilities to counter threats. Oron was delivered to the Israeli Air Force in 2021 as a special-missions G550 variant for surveillance operations.
