Jaishankar Calls for Action Against Attackers of Indian Missions

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reiterated India’s demand for action against the perpetrators involved in the attacks on its high commission in London, consulate in San Francisco, and threats against diplomats in Canada. Speaking at a summit organized by TV9 Network, Jaishankar emphasized the need for accountability in these incidents. He highlighted the suspension of visa issuance in Canada due to threats against Indian diplomats, stressing the importance of ensuring their safety.

Jaishankar underscored India’s expectation for culprits to be brought to justice in all instances of violence against its missions abroad. He criticized the lack of adequate protection during attacks, particularly in the UK, while acknowledging improvements in response from countries like Australia and the U.S. The minister emphasized that such attacks undermine diplomatic norms and called for firm action to uphold the integrity of diplomatic missions. Jaishankar’s remarks underscore India’s stance on safeguarding its diplomatic interests and ensuring the safety of its personnel abroad.
