Kerala a Model of Unity After Poll Victory

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor praised Kerala’s spirit of unity after the United Democratic Front (UDF) secured victory in the recent elections.

Speaking about the election results, Tharoor said the outcome showed that people in Kerala voted mainly for development, progress, and good governance rather than along caste or religious lines.

According to him, the results proved that identity politics had failed to divide the people of the state.

Tharoor highlighted that voters from different communities, regions, and social backgrounds came together to support the UDF, showing a strong sense of unity and shared purpose.

He said the election outcome reflected Kerala’s long-standing tradition of social harmony and political awareness.

Despite political challenges and attempts to create divisions, Tharoor noted that Kerala’s social fabric remained strong and united.

He also said the victory demonstrated that people were more focused on issues such as development, welfare, education, and public progress than on communal or caste-based politics.

According to Tharoor, the election result was a powerful example of how collective effort and public unity can shape a positive political outcome.

He emphasized that the people of Kerala had chosen cooperation and progress over division and conflict.

Political observers believe Tharoor’s remarks were aimed at highlighting Kerala’s unique political culture, where voters often place importance on social development and inclusive politics.

The UDF’s victory has been seen by its supporters as a sign that many voters continue to value secularism, harmony, and development-focused governance in the state.
