Lightning Strikes Three Children in Chhattisgarh as Stormy Weather Continues Across Central India

Lightning struck three children in Chhattisgarh on Monday as bad weather continued to affect parts of Central India. The children were playing outside when the lightning hit them during a sudden thunderstorm.

Local people rushed them to the nearest hospital, where doctors are now treating them. Two of the children are in serious condition, while one has suffered minor injuries.

Heavy rain, strong winds, and lightning have hit several districts in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and nearby states over the past few days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned about more storms and advised people to stay indoors during lightning activity. Weather officials said that unstable weather patterns and high moisture levels have caused these storms.

The state government has asked district authorities to stay alert and take action to protect people. They have told local officials to monitor the weather closely and to spread warnings through loudspeakers, mobile alerts, and village announcements. Rescue teams and emergency services are on standby in areas most at risk.

In several villages, strong winds uprooted trees and damaged power lines. Many people faced power cuts and disruptions in mobile networks. Farmers also reported damage to their crops, especially rice and maize fields. The storm flattened standing crops and filled low-lying farmland with water.

Local schools sent children home early to keep them safe from lightning and falling trees. Parents were advised to keep their children indoors and avoid open spaces during storms.

The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh expressed concern over the incident and promised free medical treatment for the injured children. He also asked officials to provide relief to families affected by the storm.

The IMD will continue to monitor the weather and update the public. People in Central India should stay alert, follow safety instructions, and avoid outdoor activities until the weather improves.

This incident highlights the danger of lightning and the need to take weather warnings seriously.
