Man Arrested for Alleged Rape at Goa Resort

A man, identified as Laxman Shiyar, 47, from Gujarat, has been arrested in North Goa on charges of raping a woman at a starred resort in Assonora. The arrest came after the victim filed a complaint on August 23, stating that she had met Shiyar on a flight and he subsequently became friendly with her.

While she was in Goa, he convinced her to visit the resort at Assonora and allegedly sexually assaulted her in his resort room. The accused was arrested on Thursday, and police are conducting further investigations into the case.
