Mansoor Ali Khan Backs Vijay Government Bid

In the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, actor-turned-politician Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), achieved a major milestone by winning 108 seats. This impressive result has made TVK the single largest party, but it still needs additional support to secure the majority required to form the government.
To officially become Chief Minister and form the ruling government, Vijay must prove he has enough legislative support. Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has stated that Vijay must demonstrate his majority in the Assembly before being invited to form the government.
As political discussions continue, actor Mansoor Ali Khan has publicly come out in support of Vijay through a strongly worded video message.
In the video, Mansoor Ali Khan criticized the delay in inviting Vijay to take office. He questioned why there was hesitation despite Vijay’s electoral success and urged authorities to quickly swear him in as Chief Minister.
Using his trademark dramatic style, Mansoor said it was unfair to delay the process. He also criticized the role of governors in such political matters, suggesting that governors often create unnecessary complications regardless of who holds the position.
He further remarked that instead of such delays, judges should perhaps oversee oath-taking ceremonies to ensure fairness.
Drawing a comparison, he said the current situation was like delaying a wedding for over a year after the engagement is complete. He pointed out that Vijay had already secured 108 seats, and the people had clearly shown their support.
Mansoor Ali Khan also emphasized that voters had symbolically “offered” these 108 seats to Vijay, and warned against any attempts to alter or undermine the public mandate.
His video has gained attention on social media and added to the ongoing political debate in Tamil Nadu, where supporters are eagerly watching Vijay’s next steps in his bid to form the government.
