Minister Accuses BJP of Exploiting Tragedies for Political Gain

Minister and Congress leader Lakshmi Hebbalkar accused the BJP of capitalizing on tragedies and playing divisive politics, stating that the people of India are inherently peace-loving and reject such tactics. She criticized BJP leaders for fostering communal discord and exploiting unrest for political advantage, contrasting their approach with the Congress’s commitment to equality and inclusivity.

Hebbalkar emphasized the Congress’s dedication to uplifting marginalized communities and fostering harmony. She highlighted the Siddaramaiah-led State government’s fulfillment of promises and contrasted it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s alleged failure to deliver on commitments. Hebbalkar underscored the implementation of guarantee schemes aimed at alleviating economic hardships and empowering women, contrasting this with the BJP’s alleged indifference to rising fuel and food prices.

Furthermore, she criticized the imposition of outsider candidates like Jagadish Shettar on Belagavi constituents, contrasting his candidacy with the grassroots connection of her son, Mrinal Hebbalkar, whom she portrayed as a dedicated advocate for the district’s development.
