Nationals Dominate Twins 15-2 with Abrams’ Stellar Performance
CJ Abrams hit a grand slam and tied his career high with five runs batted in. Brady House, José Tena, and Drew Millas also homered as the Washington Nationals scored a season-high 15 runs, defeating the Minnesota Twins 15-2 on Wednesday night.
The Nationals set new season highs for home runs (four) and extra-base hits (10). They went four innings without scoring in their previous games but broke out with four homers in quick succession. Miles Mikolas pitched a season-high 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs and three hits. Relievers Mitchell Parker and Zak Kent finished the game, giving Washington its fifth win at home this season.
Abrams went 3 for 5, adding two doubles to his grand slam. House contributed three RBIs, while Millas hit his first homer since June 2024 against Colorado. Tena capped a seven-run inning with a solo shot in the eighth.
Twins starter Bailey Ober allowed five runs and six hits over five innings. It was their most lopsided loss since a 17-6 defeat to Milwaukee last June. Matt Wallner homered and drove in two runs for the Twins, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Nationals’ offensive explosion.
The series finale on Thursday features Simeon Woods Richardson of the Twins and Jake Irvin of the Nationals.
