NEET Retest Causes Stress for Aspirants
Aspiring students who took the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in Delhi are feeling anxious and overwhelmed after learning about the retest scheduled for June 21. The decision has left them uncertain, tired, and disrupted their plans. Many now face challenges like resuming preparation while dealing with medical recovery, financial pressures, and conflicting exam schedules.
Deepanshu Goyal from West Bengal had planned to recover after his NEET exam before a major surgery. However, the retest means he must prepare again while still recovering in the hospital.
Diksha Dheeraj’s sister, who also took the test, had scheduled an appendectomy after the exam. Now she must restart her preparation even as she recovers from surgery.
Rudra Vyas, an 18-year-old from Varanasi, questioned how authorities will prevent the question paper from leaking again. The retest date conflicts with another important exam for some aspirants.
For Pradeep Kumar, the retest adds financial stress alongside uncertainty about his JEE counselling. He worries about losing the ₹35,000 seat acceptance fee he paid for JEE.
Riya Javeed from Kashmir faces an uncertain future after her parents reluctantly allowed her to take the NEET exam in Delhi. Now she’s unsure if they’ll let her return for the retest.
Naveen Sharma from Noida feels mentally drained by the constant pressure of preparation and is frustrated that the exam isn’t being held online this year.
Earlier, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that NEET will switch to a computer-based test next year to ensure fairness.
