Nine people killed in Russian airstrikes across Ukraine
At least nine people have been killed and many others injured following a series of Russian attacks across Ukraine overnight. Several regions were hit by rockets, guided bombs, drones, and artillery, according to Ukrainian officials.

Six Killed in Zaporizhzhia
The largest number of reported deaths occurred in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, also came under attack.

Firefighters were sent to the location to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
The attack on Kyiv once again highlighted the continued threat faced by the capital, despite its distance from some of the most active front-line areas.
Russia Says It Targeted Military Facilities
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces targeted military and supply facilities in Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia.
The Russian government has repeatedly said that its military operations are aimed at Ukrainian military and strategic targets.
However, attacks in populated areas have frequently resulted in civilian deaths and damage to civilian infrastructure, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Russia Reports Drone Interceptions
Russia’s Defence Ministry also said that its air-defence systems intercepted and destroyed 396 Ukrainian drones over different parts of Russia.
The claim reflects the growing use of drones by both sides during the conflict.
Ukraine has increasingly used long-range drones to strike targets inside Russia, while Russia has continued to launch drones and missiles against targets across Ukraine.
