Trump Flees NATO Summit Secretly Amid Iran Threat

U.S. President Donald Trump left the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, secretly on an alternate military plane while the White House made it seem like he was flying on Air Force One, according to a report by The Washington Post. The move came after an Iranian assassination threat against Trump.

Trump had initially flown to the summit on a new luxury jet gifted by Qatar. However, before leaving Turkey, he announced he would fly part of the way home on an older blue Air Force One plane. After boarding this plane, he was quickly moved to a smaller Air Force C-32A using an airport catering truck. He then flew to Royal Air Force Mildenhall in the UK.

The White House declined to confirm the report directly but stated that Trump’s safety is a top priority. U.S. security officials expressed concern over potential threats during the ongoing conflict with Iran.

After arriving at Mildenhall, Trump boarded the new Qatar-gifted plane for the final leg of his trip to Washington. When asked about threats on Air Force One, Trump responded, “I have threats all the time. I’m number one on their list.”

Democrats, including Sen. Richard Blumenthal, called for a congressional investigation, calling the incident unprecedented and surreal.
