On the 17th day more than 20,000 pilgrims performed Yatra

On the 17th day of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, more than 20,000 pilgrims participated in the pilgrimage. Another group of 6,225 Yatris departed from Jammu for the Valley on Tuesday. Since the Yatra began on July 1, over 2.50 lakh pilgrims have already completed the journey, according to officials.

The latest batch of Yatris left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu in a supervised convoy, with 2,511 heading to the north Kashmir Baltal base camp and 3,714 going to the Pahalgam base camp. Unfortunately, three pilgrims lost their lives on Monday, bringing the total number of fatalities during this year’s Yatra to 30.

The deceased individuals were from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, respectively.
