Poland Halts Weapons Supply to Ukraine Amid Diplomatic Dispute Over Grain

Poland has announced the cessation of weapons supplies to Ukraine amid an escalating diplomatic dispute over grain. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki revealed on Wednesday that Poland would shift its focus to arming itself with more modern weaponry. The dispute arose after Poland summoned Ukraine’s ambassador over comments made by President Volodymyr Zelensky at the UN, where he criticized nations for feigned solidarity.

Poland viewed this criticism as unjustified, given its support for Ukraine since the start of the conflict. The grain dispute stemmed from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, disrupting Black Sea shipping lanes and leading to excess grain in central Europe. While the EU temporarily banned grain imports into five countries, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia continued the ban, creating tensions between Warsaw and Kyiv.
