Police Tighten Security Around Marina Beach

Police increased security around Marina Beach on Thursday amid fears that supporters of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) could gather there to protest over the ongoing government formation situation in Tamil Nadu.
Authorities tightened security measures by blocking several important entry and exit points near the beach area.
A large police presence was seen along the Marina Promenade, where at least 50 police personnel and six patrol vehicles were deployed to monitor the situation and prevent any large public gathering.
Barricades were also placed on roads leading toward the beach to control movement and maintain order.
According to police officials, the security arrangements were made as a precautionary measure due to concerns that TVK supporters might organize demonstrations related to the political uncertainty surrounding the formation of the next state government.
Officers were seen dispersing small groups of people who gathered near the beach and advising the public to leave the area to avoid overcrowding or possible disturbances.
The political atmosphere in Tamil Nadu has remained tense after the Assembly election resulted in no party securing a clear majority.
TVK, led by actor-politician Vijay, has been trying to gather support from various political parties to form the government.
As alliance negotiations continue and political uncertainty grows, authorities appear to be taking extra precautions to prevent protests or unrest in public places.
Police officials stated that security would continue to remain high until the political situation becomes more stable.
The developments highlight the tense mood in Chennai as government formation discussions continue to dominate the state’s political landscape.
