President Murmu Thanks World Leaders for Independence Day Greetings
President Droupadi Murmu has expressed her gratitude to world leaders who sent greetings to India on the occasion of the country’s 80th Independence Day. She thanked leaders from different countries for their warm wishes and said the messages reflected the friendship and strong relations shared between nations.
The Independence Day celebrations were held across India with various programmes, ceremonies and cultural events. The occasion was especially significant as the country marked an important milestone in its history.
President Murmu said the messages from international leaders were a sign of the close relationships India has developed with countries around the world. She highlighted the importance of friendship, cooperation and mutual respect between nations.
India has been playing an increasingly active role in global affairs, including areas such as economic development, technology, climate action and international cooperation. The greetings from world leaders were seen as recognition of India’s growing role on the global stage.
The President also emphasised the importance of unity among Indians. She said the country’s progress depends on people working together and contributing to its development.
Independence Day is observed every year on August 15 to remember India’s freedom from British rule in 1947. The day is marked by flag-hoisting ceremonies, speeches, cultural programmes and other public events across the country.
The milestone celebrations also provided an opportunity to remember the sacrifices made by freedom fighters who played an important role in India’s independence movement.
People across the country celebrated the occasion in different ways. Schools, government offices, public organisations and communities organised special programmes to mark the day.
President Murmu’s message highlighted that international friendship is also important for India’s future. Cooperation with other countries can help India address global challenges and contribute to peace and development.
The greetings from foreign leaders were therefore more than simple messages of celebration. They also reflected the importance of India’s relationships with the international community.
The President said such messages can serve as a source of encouragement and inspiration as India continues to work towards economic and social progress.
As the country moves forward, the Independence Day celebrations also renewed the focus on unity, development, peace and cooperation. President Murmu’s response highlighted the importance of maintaining strong relationships with other nations while continuing to build a better future for all Indians.
