Seat-Sharing Struggles Between Andhra Pradesh Congress and Left Allies

In Andhra Pradesh, the Congress party has finalized a seat-sharing agreement with the Communist Party of India (CPI) for the upcoming elections, allocating the Guntur Parliamentary constituency and eight Assembly segments to the CPI. However, negotiations with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) are ongoing, with some Assembly constituencies becoming points of contention.

The Vijayawada Central Assembly seat, in particular, is a bone of contention between the Congress and the CPI(M), raising concerns among Congress leaders about potential losses in traditional bastions. Some Congress leaders advocate for retaining key Assembly segments in Vijayawada city, emphasizing historical significance and community representation. Despite the complexities, party leaders express commitment to work unitedly for electoral success.
