Sri Lanka Surpasses 900,000 Tourist Arrivals in 2023

Sri Lanka has welcomed over 900,000 tourists in 2023 as of August 30th, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). This figure represents a significant increase compared to the total arrivals of 719,978 reported for the entire year of 2022.

The Sri Lankan tourism industry has set a target of attracting two million visitors in 2023. Despite facing challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic and domestic economic and political crises, Sri Lanka’s tourism sector is showing signs of recovery.
