Summer Action Plan for Drinking Water Management in Krishna District

Krishna District Collector P. Rajababu has initiated a comprehensive summer action plan to address potential drinking water shortages. Water release from Prakasam Barrage to canals is scheduled for April 4, with a focus on filling drinking water ponds across the district. Emphasizing proactive measures, officials are instructed to prevent water diversion for non-drinking purposes or aquaculture.

Additionally, a mobile app has been deployed to monitor water supply, mapping all ponds and implementing geo-fencing for efficient management. With impending heatwaves forecasted by IMD and APSDMA, villagers will receive weather alerts via mic announcements, while municipal authorities are tasked with providing shelters for the homeless.
