Three College Students Arrested for Attacking Peer in Periamet

Three college students have been apprehended by the police for allegedly assaulting another student following a minor dispute. The incident occurred near Park railway station on Friday, where Rakesh Anand, an 18-year-old first-year college student from Elephant Gate, was confronted by the trio.

The verbal altercation quickly escalated into a physical confrontation during which the suspects attacked Rakesh with a knife, leading to his hospitalization. Acting on the victim’s complaint, the Periamet police arrested P. Bhupathi (19), S. Akash (19) from Tiruttani, and S. Vinayagamurthy (20) from Ranipet. The authorities also recovered a knife from the suspects. The accused is in judicial custody.
