Tight Security as Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin Visits Vellore

For Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s visit to Vellore, a significant security presence of at least 2,500 policemen, including SPs, has been deployed. Stalin is scheduled to travel by train from MG Ramachandran Chennai Central railway station to Katpadi, Vellore. During his visit, he will pay homage to EV Ramaswamy Periyar on his 145th birth anniversary and visit the Sri Lankan Tamil rehabilitation camp in Melmanavaoor village.

Additionally, Stalin will launch the allocation of free houses to Sri Lankan Tamils in the state, marking the first phase of the project he initiated in Vellore in November 2021. A total of 1,591 beneficiaries will receive free houses in this phase, benefiting Sri Lankan Tamils residing in 19 rehabilitation camps across 13 districts.
