Beneficiaries in Chennai Express Gratitude for Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam

Many recipients of the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam in Chennai are expressing their appreciation for the financial support it offers to their families. R. Pushpavalli, a flower vendor, sees the ₹1,000 monthly grant as a significant boost to her children’s well-being. Similarly, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, who depends on roadside eateries for a livelihood, acknowledges the support this grant provides for her family.

Over eight lakh women in the city are now receiving ₹1,000 per month as part of the scheme. However, some, like Subulakshmi Thangavel, were not aware of the assistance and missed out because they didn’t have bank accounts. Efforts are being made to include such individuals in the scheme, which aims to empower women economically.
