Toddler’s Rib Area Finds Needle Year After Birth

Police have launched an investigation after a family in Kerala reported finding a needle near their toddler’s ribs, nearly a year after the child was born. The child had received treatment at Kottayam Medical College Hospital, leading the parents to question whether the object could have been left behind during medical treatment.

According to the family, they discovered the needle while the child was being examined. The parents have accused the hospital of negligence and have sought an investigation into how the object could have remained inside or near the child’s body for such a long period.

The complaint has prompted police to examine the circumstances surrounding the child’s treatment and the discovery of the needle. Investigators are expected to look at the child’s medical records and treatment history as part of the probe.

The hospital, however, has denied wrongdoing. An internal review conducted by the medical college reportedly found no evidence of negligence or other misconduct by its staff.
