Kerala Government Provides Flood Relief Funds in Pathanamthitta
The Kerala government has announced financial assistance of ₹25.64 crore for families affected by severe flooding in Pathanamthitta district. The relief package is aimed at helping households recover from damage caused by heavy rainfall and flooding in August.
Under the assistance scheme, ₹10,000 will be provided to each of 25,648 affected households. The financial support is intended to help families meet immediate expenses and recover some of the losses caused by the floods.
The heavy rains and subsequent flooding caused damage to several homes and affected the lives of many residents across the district. Families whose houses were damaged are expected to use the assistance for essential repairs and other urgent needs.
The state government said the relief is part of its efforts to support people affected by extreme weather events. Providing financial assistance directly to affected households is expected to help families begin the recovery process more quickly.
Officials will work to ensure that eligible families receive the assistance in a timely manner. The government has also stressed the need to support communities as they recover from the impact of the floods.
