Tragic Suicide of NEET Aspirant in Kota Raises Concerns

In a tragic incident, a 16-year-old girl preparing for the NEET exam took her own life in Kota, Rajasthan, bringing the total number of student suicides in the city to 24 this year. The victim, Richa Sinha, originally from Ranchi, Jharkhand, had been preparing for NEET at a coaching center while residing in a hostel at the Electronic Complex in Kota for the past five months.

Her body was discovered by fellow students who became concerned when she did not respond to calls and had not left her room since late evening. Despite the presence of guidelines and support centers in the city, the alarming rate of student suicides continues to be a grave concern for the authorities in Kota.
