Two Arrested for Mobile Phone Thefts in Suburban Trains

In a breakthrough for the Government Railway Police, a 23-year-old man, and a juvenile have been apprehended for their involvement in stealing mobile phones on trains and stations in suburban areas. The suspects, identified as A. Anil Kumar Noniya and an unnamed juvenile, had recently arrived in the city by air from West Bengal with the intention of carrying out the thefts.

The police launched an investigation following a string of complaints from passengers regarding missing mobile phones, primarily occurring during crowded train boarding or when victims fell asleep. Detecting a pattern in the thefts, a dedicated police team, led by senior officers, successfully tracked down Noniya and the juvenile.

Subsequently, the police seized approximately 22 stolen mobile phones from the duo, leading to their arrest. The prompt action taken by the authorities has provided some relief to commuters and serves as a deterrent to potential thieves in the region’s transit networks.
