The US Mission to India has announced that it has achieved and exceeded its target of processing one million non-immigrant visa applications in 2023. Indians accounted for over one in 10 visa applications worldwide, with the Mission processing almost 20% more applications than in pre-pandemic 2019. US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti highlighted the importance of the US-India partnership and the strong ties between the two nations.
Last year, over 1.2 million Indians visited the US, making it one of the world’s most significant travel relationships. The Mission plans to implement a pilot program allowing domestic visa renewal for qualified employment visa applicants starting next year.
